As a blogger and a YouTuber, I am always interested in finding “viral” content topics.

One method I’ve heard about often in the past few months revolves around identifying outlier videos, those videos from small creators that get many more views than they have subscribers.

So, a channel might have 3,000 subscribers but make a video that gets 10K, 50K, or 100K views.

That’s an outlier.

There are expensive tools that can help you find outliers:

  • 1outof10
  • Viewstats (Mr. Beast’s tool)

I think both of those cost around $50 per month. Worth it, perhaps, but I wanted to see if I could come up with a cheaper (or even free) way. Spoiler: I did.

Here Is What the Outlier Video Code Does

Using ChatGPT, I created a Python code that:

  • Does not require any downloads (it’s all on the cloud)
  • Is 100% free to use
  • Can run on Google Collab (a free platform)
  • Is tweakable (You can change the code based on your needs and wants)
