Physicists Larry M. Silverberg and Jeffrey Eischen recently proposed a bold new theory about matter and energy.

This theory challenges fundamental beliefs held by scientists for decades. Namely, that matter is not made up of waves or particles. Instead, Silverberg and Eischen suggest that matter is made of “fragments of energy.”

According to an article on ScienceAlert.com, they say:

Our theory begins with a new fundamental idea — that energy always “flows” through regions of space and time.

Fascinating.

Even more interesting, to me, is how this theory might shake up metaphysics.

“The difference between physics and metaphysics is not that the practitioners of one are smarter than the practitioners of the other. The difference is that the metaphysicist has no laboratory.” — Carl Sagan
