I'll do my best to answer your questions. I'll also note that I've written many articles about my process and techniques over the years and many of them mention lots of hurdles and more specific timelines.

With that said, it took me many years to get to the point where I'm at, but mostly because I didn't have a clue about what I was doing. Once I knew a little bit about what worked, I'd say it was about a year or two before I started making hundreds of dollars. I combined self-hosted website blogging with blogging on other platforms, like this one, supplement my income. I also took on private clients and leveraged AI for some of that work. I've been using AI since it became more publicly known and available, so I'm guessing around 3 years? I made over $10,000 that first year through display advertising and affiliate marketing on my sites, private contracts, and publishing on other platforms.
