Thank you for and honest comments. You are absolutely correct about looking for diamonds in the rough. I'm sure I could get a good writer for a higher pay rate, but then it wouldn't be financially viable for me. I didn't go very high with my pay rate since my budget is limited - $50 probably, maybe even a bit more but nothing close to $100 per article. Hopefully one day I will make enough money each month that I can pay a higher amount to my writers. Until then, it's diamond hunting. For now, I write most things myself. :)
