Thank you! Yes, generic or boring text messages usually lead to nowhere. I find that different people handle texting differently and behave accordingly, especially at the beginning of dating.

For example, some people are big texters and text often and others don't really text at all between the first couple of dates.

I like texting but I'm okay with both texting styles in the beginning.

I prefer getting to know people in person, but I do often have at least one phone call before the first date and sometimes between the other dates as well.

It's often a case-by-case judgment call.

But, to your question, I do think that there has to be some sort of vibe or connection in any kind of communication. Sadly, some people just don't know how to text well. Lol

So, yeah, I think you probably made a good call to cut things off with him. Generic messages and repeated photos are not a good sign.
