Only the paragraph where I'm going for the Answer Target/Google Featured Snippet is 300 characters. I usually put that in the introduction before the first subheading. Occassionaly, it goes right under the first subheading.

The entire article is above 1,000 words and they average between 1,500 and 2,000 words.
