My Honest Topsetters Review and Experience (2023)
I tried TopSetters to see if it was a legitimate side hustle
I recently saw a TikTok video that was a disguised advertisement for this guy’s company — aka, Topsetters.
A quick scroll through the comments revealed the man in the video was actually the CEO (Sahil Sharma) and not an unbiased regular person testing outside hustles.
So I decided to check out Topsetters myself.
Here is my Topsetters review and experience (hold on to your shorts).
How I Conducted My Topsetter Review
As a general rule, when assessing the legitimacy of a company or an online business opportunity, there are several key factors to consider:
- Transparency. Does the company clearly state who they are, where they’re located, and how they operate? Do they provide ample contact information?
- Reviews and Reputation. Are there credible, positive reviews or testimonials available from third-party sources?
- Business Model. Does the company have a clear, understandable business model? Are their promises of income realistic and supported by factual evidence?
- Accreditations and Certifications. Is the company recognized or certified by any reputable institutions or business associations?
- Website Security. Is the company’s website secure? Do they respect data privacy?
Getting Started With Topsetters
When you log onto their website (www.Topsetters.com), you can’t really do anything but enter your personal information.
And it’s pretty dang personal right up front.
They want:
- Your name
- Your email
- Your phone number
Why do they need my phone number? I don’t know yet at this point.
Are they going to try to set an appointment with me? Again, no clue.
I didn’t really want to fork over my phone number but I’m doing this for you, dear reader. We need to see if this thing actually works.
By entering your information, you get to watch a 10-minute video.
My notes: the homepage is set up like a landing page to get your information. There is a call to action at the top and a gif of the CEO below the contact box. I looked for a navigation menu but there is none.
The 10-Minute Promotional Video (What the Hell Is It?)
Here is the rundown of this video:
- The CEO introduces himself and talks about his background and experience for the first 1 minute and 46 seconds.
- For the next few minutes, he explains TopSetters (more on this in a second)
- Then the video goes over the certification process.
- The rest of the video is about possible money you can make and testimonials.
- The video ends with the CEO asking you to schedule a 15-minute call with their team to learn more (using an embedded calendar).
The Topsetters Calendar & Call
Unfortunately, as you can see from the screenshot above, I was not able to schedule a call. There were no appointments available this month (May).
A commenter on the original Tiktok video said the same thing.
Now here I am experiencing this calendar roadblock. I have some questions: What do I do now? Keep checking back for available appointments I suppose. Why are there no appointments available?
Is it because they are so sought-after and busy?
I even tried to change the calendar to June or July. But the calendar wouldn’t move at all.
What Is Topsetters.com?
From what I gathered, Topsetters is a training and certification company that connects you with companies that are setting up appointment-setting teams.
By the way, the CEO’s other business is helping companies set up appointment-setting teams.
See how that works?
I knew you would, you smart cookie, you. He’s double dipping, integrating both of his businesses. Not a bad idea, all in all. At least he’s transparent about it right in the introductory video.
How Does Topsetters Work?
First, you go through their training and certification process. Then Topsetters connects you to a pool of companies hiring appointment setters.
These companies sell offers that range between $5,000 and $50,0000.
According to the CEO, you get 5% to 10% of this price.
Although it’s not clearly stated, I assume you only get paid if the company makes a sale. Not for just setting appointments.
If you make 10 appointments/sales per month at $10,000 per sale, you make $10,000 that month. How easy is it to do? Debatable, but technically possible.
TopSetters provides free to you software to help you make appointments.
That’s pretty cool.
Even better, they train you and certify you on how to use it. You also get access to a private community of appointment setters, a weekly coaching call, and text-based support if you need it.
The only thing I can do is wait.
Well, that and scroll down to watch the testimonial videos (which I did) and check out the social media accounts for TopSetters (which I also did).
Is Topsetters Legit?
Based on my personal experience, I can say…probably.
It seems like the company is legitimate, and probably does try to train and certify you (no clue if it costs anything — if so, I would steer clear of it). The website has a Domain Rank of 0, which means it is brand new.
That may be why there is no navigation on the site.
The lack of calendar options to schedule a call with their team may also be rooted in the newness of the site (and company).
My Ratings
My Verdict
It’s probably a legit company but, like most side hustles, it’s not going to be easy or guaranteed to make $10,000 per month.
I don’t buy that for a moment.
However, setting appointments for high-ticket products and services is not a bad way to make some extra money (if you have the time and personality for it).
As someone who has been part of several call centers, including one where I set appointments, I can tell you that you get lots of missed calls, people hang up on you, people get angry, and you typically need to call people at night and on the weekend when they are free to talk.
None of that is great for your life or lifestyle.
In my opinion, there are much better (and easier) ways to make a living.
However, if you like to talk to people, don’t mind constant rejection, and stay calm under pressure, this may be the type of job you want to pursue.
Just maybe not with TopSetters.
Final Thoughts: Topsetters Review
The best way that I’ve found to make extra money is through blogging.
It’s not “easy” or fast but it does work if you know what you are doing. That means learning and maybe paying for a good blogging program.
That’s what I did.
My favorite blogging program is (unsurprisingly) the one I invested in, learned from, applied to my own websites, and still belong to: Passive Income Geek (not an affiliate link).
