Full-time writer. Father. Bald as a baby’s bottom.

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” — Oscar Wilde

My bio

As I write this, I’m sitting at my make-shift desk sipping coffee and typing on a tiny laptop perched atop an empty cardboard box. It’s a completely ugly set up, but I love it.

It’s my favorite place in my house. It’s where all my childhood dreams of being a full-time writer finally came true.

I’m Christopher Kokoski, pronounced Co-Co-Ski. Just imagine drinking hot cocoa while skiing down a snowy slope.

But never do that in real life. It’s a terrible idea.

I practice this one, simple micro-habit every morning.

The tiniest habits can change your day for the better.

I practice a simple morning habit every day as soon as I wake up. It frames my entire day in bright white optimism.

Since I’ve been performing this habit for years now, sometimes I unconsciously start doing it even before I open my eyes. Laying in bed, it takes me less than 60 seconds.

Yet, the resulting positive impact on my mood, attitude, and perspective is massively outsized compared to the micro-habit.

What is this habit? And how does it work?

That’s what this article is about, so sit back…

Redefining and widening our definition of sex work.

We’ve all heard of only fans, cam girls, feet pics, prostitution, and porn.

But the world of sex workers is much larger than these common types of sex work. In fact, there are at least seven types of sex work you probably didn’t know existed.

Buckle up and grab yourself a snack, because this is going to be interesting.

What is Sex Work?

First of all, what is the definition of sex work?

I’m going to take the definition directly from the World Health Organization, or WHO for short, because the definition is simple, broad, and credible.

Here is the definition of sex work…

A complete guide from my 20-year speaking career

“Rhetoric is the art of ruling the minds of men.”
-Plato

Public speaking can be a nerve-wracking experience, but it doesn’t have to be.

I know firsthand, as I grew up with a paralyzing fear of speaking in public. Fast forward 20 years, and I can now speak confidently in front of hundreds of people at national conferences.

I was a Toastmaster for over a decade and traveled the United States presenting in front of hundreds of groups, both small and large.

Along the way, I learned a few tips to help anyone become a better speaker.

It is possible…

A true story of lies, betrayal, and desperation.

An anonymous woman posted on Reddit with the title: “I cheated on my husband with one of his friends and now I don’t know what to do, I want him back my life is terrible without him.”

She proceeded to outline a story vibrating with lies, betrayal, and justifications for rampant bad behavior.

This is her story.

Disclaimer: This article is a breakdown of one person’s unique situation. It is not meant as a sweeping judgment of anyone who’s ever made a mistake. There are many different ways to date all around the world.

The Background (Aka Preemptive Justifications)

This is the classic story of…

The unexplained phenomenon of mystery stairs found deep in the woods

Creepy staircase in the woods — Source

In 2016, a Search and Rescue (SAR) Officer posted on Reddit about stumbling across mysterious sets of stairs in the woods that lead to nowhere.

The stairs rise up from the soil like an animated corpse, ending in empty air and stunted nothingness. No other structure surrounds the stairs to give them meaning or context.

Where did these stairs come from?

There is no conclusive answer to this question.

Some people believe some of them are naturally occurring, some think it’s a prank from aliens, and others believe that they are left by fairies. …

The brutal forced feeding of young Mauritania girls for marriage

Wife-Fattening Farms — Source

It doesn’t sound real, but wife-fattening farms still exist in West Africa.

Mauritania, a country of 4,649,658, believes “big is beautiful and stretch marks are sexy.” It sounds almost progressive.

That is, until you learn that young girls are often sent away to “wife-fattening farms” and brutally force-fed until they gain enough weight to meet the beauty standards of the region.

The horror of being force-fed as a child is not limited to a few.

In an effort to make pre-pubescent girls look more eligible on the marriage market, these so-called “farms” feed children thousands of calories every day during…

My biggest lessons learned on my journey to six figures

I got two emails today that made me do a little happy dance in my bedroom/writing workspace.

Email #1: The first email was from the Passive Income Geek program notifying me that I had made a $74 dollar commission.

Email #2: The second email was from the Ezoic ad platform notifying me that I had made $47.66 in the last 30 days from display ads.

In total, my writing website has made over $100 for the first time ever. I’m super excited to share with you what I’ve learned and how it happened.

Note: None of the links in this…

Non-paying views can make you money, too

Medium only pays you when paying members read your stories, so why should you care about organic Google traffic?

Someone asked me a very similar question recently as a comment to my article, 5 Types of Keywords I Use To Drive Traffic To My Website.

I responded with a quick message, then realized the answer might deserve its own article. Personally, I use Google traffic to increase my “on Medium” and “off Medium” earnings from writing.

Here’s the gist of how I do it:

  • Gauge interest in topics
  • Get external clients
  • Build my portfolio
  • Direct traffic from Medium articles to…

She stabbed one boyfriend with a squirrel and ran over another with a U-Haul truck

Helen Ann Williams, a 44-year-old South Carolina woman, stabbed her boyfriend with a ceramic squirrel because he came home late on Christmas Eve without beer.

She also ran over another boyfriend with a U-haul truck.

At the time of both incidents, Helen lived in Moncks Corner, a tiny town in Berkely County. Within a span of five years, she would be arrested three times — once for assault, once for public intoxication, and once for murder.

This is her true crime story.

Helen’s story gets interesting fast.

On Christmas Eve, 2013, her common-law husband came home later than expected. …
